Shelley completed her Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Food and Nutrition at Ryerson University and dietetic internship at The Hospital for Sick Children. She is a Clinical Dietitian at Lakeridge Health in the Women and Children’s Program along with Grandview Children’s Centre Nutrition Clinic. With several years experience in pediatric nutrition, Shelley’s areas of expertise include neonatal nutrition, feeding/swallowing difficulties, failure to thrive, picky eaters, food allergies/intolerances, weight management, autism and nutrition, eating disorders, and general nutrition counselling for the healthy infant, child or adolescent. Shelley works with an elite team of health care professionals to optimize the growth and development of children.
Shelley reviews meal and snack menus for daycare facilities in following with the Child Care and Early years Act (CCEYA) ensuring a balance of foods as outlined by Health Canada’s Eating Well with Canada’s Food Guide. This review helps to ensure standard nutrition requirements are met and a variety of nutritious foods are provided that are appealing to children both in taste and texture.
